Compression stockings are the most conservative treatment for varicose veins. Many patients in our clinic find that there’s symptoms are sufficiently managed by wearing support stockings. Compression stockings help improve blood flow and decrease the amount of reflux in the veins, decreasing lower extremity edema.
While compression stockings do help to ease the symptoms, they will not eliminate spider or varicose veins. In combination with compression stockings, walking and leg elevation are suggested to ease symptoms and improve venous circulation.
